Actrix How-To:
Get started:
- Click on the Actrix icon (on computers in Mac 101).
- When you open a new document you need to load the applicable catalogs. Basic
Drawing gives standard shapes and connectors. UML has catalogs you may need
for use cases etc.
- Drag shapes from the right pane into the document.
- Voila!
Insert a diagram into a Word document (any of the following):
- In Actrix, select the whole drawing (CTRL-A). Copy the whole drawing (Ctrl-C).
Open Word and paste the drawing (Ctrl-V). Pecularity: if the diagram goes to the
bottom of the page in Actrix, it may get chopped. Leave a little blank space.
- In Word, open Windows Explorer. In the Windows Explorer, select the Actrix
drawing and drag it into Word
- In Actrix, save the drawing as either EMF or WMF (enhanced windows
metafile and windows metafile respectively). In Word, do an Insert | Picture
| From File.
- In Actrix, save the drawing as HTML. In Word, open the HTML
file
Insert a hyperlink into a use case diagram:
- Select the object
- Select Insert/Hyperlink
- Browse to the file you want to include. You should change "Files of type:
entry to "All Files:
Access a link:
- Select the object
- Right click on it
- Select Open Hyperlink
